Dining sensation TRANSFORMER was the highlight of Chrissie’s recent stay in Melbourne.
This vegetarian restaurant by Laki Papadopoulos + Mark Price, has established a renowned following in the Melbournian scene that surprises + delights.
It's named after the building’s former life as an electrical transformer warehouse. The original
ivy-filled courtyard inspired the refurbishment, which is designed by Breathe Architecture.
Concrete planter boxes surround intimate dining spaces, with recycled timber, brass fixtures and an abundance of plants.
Head chefs Luke Florence and Bryce Edwards offer a sophisticated, refined + experimental menu. Seasonal, organic + local produce of Middle Eastern, Mediterranean + Asian-inspired dishes, are
individually served so one can enjoy each unique flavour combination like their mouth-watering ricotta + rye gnocchi with pumpkin mousse + blueberry compote; and king oyster mushroom with confit garlic, pine-nut puree + smoked shallot.
A full bar including some unusual cocktails + cold-pressed juice are also part of the dining experience; this teamed with five star service given by warm, knowledgeable wait staff creates a destination to put on your hit list.
